When you hear the word "shine your light", you might be wondering "how?"
Being a Christian is not a call to be passive but active. Shining your light is part of your responsibility as a child of God, which can also translate to your societal contribution.
14 You are the light of the world — like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:14-16
If many believers had taken that command seriously, this world would not be where it is today. But because we just want to shine within the 4 walls of the church building alone. We are so comfortable in the pew. There are harlots, drug addicts, orphans, widows, and many people on the street crying for help. They need Jesus and also help that will keep them in check.
1. Build schools.
2. Rehabilitation centres
3. Preach the gospel
4. Vocational training
5. Medical Facilities and more
Have a vision. Have burdens. Many of us are always asking God for personal things. Have you asked Him to bless you so you can help others? Being a Christian commits you to social responsibility, where Jesus is revealed and glorified.
